Recovery in Ten Stages means us gaining the courage to peel back layers of pain and sadness

The chemicals that are running our body and our brain are the same chemicals that are involved in emotion. And that says to us that . . . we had better pay more attention to emotions with respect to healthy Recovery in Ten Stages means us gaining the courage to peel back layers of pain and sadness

We can think clearly enough about a myriad other topics – but we immediately have trouble when we begins to focus on how memories of childhood derail our thinking. Repressed and suppressed emotions and feelings require dissociated-energy to keep them submerged. It takes energy to hold down our feelings. As these feelings are relinquished, the energy that had been holding down the negativity is now freed for constructive uses.
